Wearside Groups

As well as attending the monthly meeting, members are encouraged to participate in and enjoy leisurely learning by joining one or more of the approximately 20 groups.

Each group has a leader/co-ordinator, who has an interest in, or may even have expertise in, the group activity or topic.

All learning is shared in a sociable, friendly atmosphere.

Until September 2023, the groups met at several venues, e.g. members' homes, the Sunderland Library or the Bangladeshi Centre where usually there is a £2 contribution towards refreshments/room hire or other expenses.

From October 2023 while BIC was being altered, meetings which were at BIC moved to other locations.

By default our current groups are shown in alphabetic order. There are buttons to show the groups by meeting day or venue.
